China moves to propel mobile IoT for 'Intelligent Connectivity'
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released a plan to promote the development of mobile IoT, aiming to enhance supply, innovation capabilities, and industrial value in this field. The plan extends the application of mobile IoT to areas such as intelligent vehicles, healthcare, and smart homes. By 2027, the number of mobile IoT terminal connections is expected to exceed 3.6 billion, with more than five industrial clusters and ten demonstration bases to be established. Key focuses include strengthening the foundational network, enhancing innovation, promoting smart technology applications, and fostering a favorable development environment. As of the end of July 2024, China’s mobile IoT connections reached 2.55 billion, accounting for 59% of total mobile terminal connections.
