Wi-Fi IoT Chipset Market to Hit $4.8 B by 2030 as New Standards Boost

According to IoT Analytics’ latest Wireless IoT Connectivity Chipset Market Report 2025–2030, the Wi-Fi IoT chipset market is set for a strong rebound, with a projected 17.3% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) reaching $4.84 billion by 2030. After a contraction in 2023–2024 caused by inventory corrections and a higher proportion of low-end chipsets, the market is expected to accelerate from 2025 onward. The growth is driven by three main factors: the adoption of low-power Wi-Fi chipsets, the resumption of enterprise Wi-Fi network upgrades such as Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, and the emergence of Wi-Fi HaLow. Wi-Fi 6 introduces energy-saving features like Target Wake Time (TWT) and extended sleep modes, enabling battery-powered devices such as smart locks, sensors, and cameras to operate efficiently in Wi-Fi environments. As enterprises reinvest in network infrastructure, new Wi-Fi standards offer improved connectivity reliability and higher speeds. Meanwhile, Wi-Fi HaLow (IEEE 802.11ah) operates below 1 GHz, providing longer range and better obstacle penetration, suitable for industrial and agricultural remote monitoring applications. The report notes that in 2024, Qualcomm and Broadcom led the market with 19% and 18% share, respectively. Experts highlight that the combination of low-power and long-range technologies is positioning Wi-Fi as a key connectivity solution capable of supporting both high-bandwidth and low-power IoT applications.
