IoT security incidents hit logistics sector hardest
The article examines the growing adoption of cellular IoT in the logistics and transport industry and highlights the increasing cybersecurity and connectivity challenges it brings. According to the Connected Fleet 2026 report, 27% of logistics and transport companies experienced an IoT security incident in the past year, the highest among the industries surveyed, with insufficient threat detection and unstable network connectivity identified as the main barriers to expanding IoT deployments.
The report also predicts that international cellular IoT deployments will continue to grow, accounting for nearly half of all deployments by 2030. As connected fleets expand across multiple countries and networks, organizations will face greater complexity in managing connectivity, security, and regulatory compliance, increasing the demand for integrated and simplified IoT management solutions.
